This is a Year Planner for Assembly Themes (Highlighted in Red on a Monday) and Thought for the Day (For each day during the school year). Although this is one I wrote for the last school year (Dates on Calendar will be for 2019/2020) it will still provide some creative ideas for assembly themes and thoughts for the day that can be further developed by your tutors or teachers of PSHE. It is all perfectly laid out on a calendar style template.

The Learning Diary is a booklet that can be used for students to record evidence of their learning that takes place outside of the classroom environment.

Supporting colleagues through a ‘Coaching Approach’ is considered an excellent way in which to involve staff in their ‘school journey’ If you are interested in leading out a Coaching Programme for staff at your school, then a good starting point is to complete an online qualification; I completed a 100 hour course in Life Coaching before implementing a Coaching Programme for teachers and support during my role as a Head and HOC. This resource contains my 4 completed assignments of 5000 words + to help you along your way - all passed with distinction. Clear advice and guidance to help all teachers re-establish an effective learning environment; this resource identifies key action points for developing effective behaviour management alongside other whole school issues that will support successful student transition back into the classroom.

Part 1 of 3 Behaviour Support Packs that have been proven to support improvements in Behaviour. A five week module of work that can be used as part of a Life Skills Programme or for intensive 1-1 targeted work. The module uses real life examples as identified by the student through reflection, to help modify and improve their future responses and relationships with staff. The programme aims to support improvements in student behaviour by helping them reflect upon their previous actions and behaviours.

Using this resource will prove an excellent way to reinforce Behaviour Management expectations for staff. It aligned to our 'Behaviour Slip System of blue and red slips for poor behaviour and reminded staff of when follow up was required, or indeed if they needed to deal with the named ‘behaviour incident’. It stopped staff writing lots of behaviour sips and always passing on issues to pastoral staff or sending students out; it helps to make staff more accountable for what goes on in their classrooms. It can be adapted to suit your own BM protocols. There are two models added, with the coloured version an update on the first. It really does work with teachers, as well as proving a useful resource for staff training.

This is a ‘Bullying Policy’ that I had previously written for my Special School, where it was proven into guiding staff into making decisions around bullying incidents. It aims to give a comprehensive definition in real terms as to the kind of bullying that may be experienced by students in any educational provision.

This is an extensive Curriculum Statement that I wrote for my KS3 Centre (PRU) in readiness for Ofsted; it also proved to be a great reflection tool that enabled us to look at all areas of the curriculum and to assess if it met the needs of our young people.

This letter template is based on my previously well used Headteacher letter template that I used for applying for HT jobs; this one is specifically focused on roles for Headteacher/SLT positions in Special Education and Alternative Provision and gives examples of the kind of evidence you may need to provide that helps to catch the eye of prospective employers. I did indeed get an interview using this letter and ultimately got the job, which was my last substantive post before retirement.

Are you training your new staff in the basics of Behaviour Management or are you reinforcing appropriate expectations for Managing Behaviour in a whole staff training session? Are you reflecting upon your own Behaviour Management and feel your responses to students could be improved upon or are you a new teacher looking for tips and advice regarding using appropriate language in the classroom? If so, this resource is perfect for you. This excellent training/reflective document identifies an extensive list of possible ways students could disrupt learning in the classroom, alongside some less than helpful responses by the teacher…the document then identifies a more appropriate response that helps the teacher to manage the situation more successfully. The resource identifies more than 20 different scenario’s alongside an opportunity to have ago at some answers for yourself.

This resource includes a model 'Anti-bullying Policy, in addition to an in-depth evidence form for recording bullying incidents. In addition, I have added a couple of initiatives that were introduced in my Centre…A bullying levels programme that can be incorporated into any Behaviour Policy/Anti-bullying Policy and an appropriate letter that can form as a template to shape any bullying letters that need to be sent home to parents. In addition to these excellent resources I have also included a Bullying Contract that can be used with students who are habitual bullies in your provision. All have been proven working documents in a PRU.

Student attendance continues to come under scrutiny since the Covid Pandemic. The Tracking and Monitoring attendance package contains the appropriate monitoring tools and associated resources/letters/templates to effectively track student attendance in any school. Alongside the resources are appropriate letters that align to different stages of the tracking and an overall monitoring chart to be used by the attendance officer, to track referrals and cases which require additional follow up. In addition I have added monthly Red/Amber/Green Letters which are an additional monthly resource to inform parents of their students attendance and how it aligns to school expectations. I have also added a template that helps staff to identify historical attendance and exemplar narrative to help you use the appropriate language used by monitoring agencies. I have used this bundle of tools to track attendance in all of my roles in the past 6 years and it has proved very effective and easy to use. Updated to include…the individual student Action Plan and a tracking document aimed at evidencing actions taken to support improvement in attendance across the school - for the complete package for improving attendance see the resource called Strategic Improvement of School Attendance.

I wrote this document/template when I was successful in securing my final Headship before retirement; In addition to key school documents like the SDP/SEF/Raise Online Data etc, It proved a very useful ally when I was exploring all aspects of my new school. Once I had discovered an item on the list I would check it off and identify where I saw it or where it could be found. This is not an Ofsted related document but a personal template that I found very useful.

Aims for the use of this Booklet: This booklet will help schools support students in developing positive aspirations for the future; the statement produced will help teachers to address the needs of individual students (Gatesby BM 3) and then provide evidence for encounters with employers and employees (Gatesby BM 5) as in Practice Interviews, for example. A positive Careers statement will serve any young person well and advertise their skills, achievements and experiences to future employers and for College and University applications. This extensive step by step booklet can be used for KS4 and Post 16 students alike, as both age groups would benefit from using such a statement alongside their CV. The aim of this booklet is to guide students in to writing a Careers Statement, that helps to show off their strengths, personality and achievements during their school career and to bring together the positives of their educational journey to date.

A Powerpoint that guides the students into strengthening their memory through image chains - the PP could help shape a Learning session/PSHE lesson to help students improve their working memory.

An excellent resource for all those staff needing to track, monitor and trigger support for student behaviour; a useful resource that works alongside other SEN documentation as part of any action planning processes - this documents forms an evidence base over time of actions taken and the appropriate support that has been implemented. I have added the Inclusion Support Plan as an additional resource with this package - both documents would work together.

Having introduced a Coaching Programme for teachers and support staff in my schools, I have seen the benefit of such a system at first hand. This resource identifies a method for introducing a Coaching Programme for support staff in your schools; the same resource can be adapted for introducing the same programme for your teachers, but it would require some careful additions regarding a focus on teaching and learning and, or other key foci for your team.

Although the number of school trips presently taking place is much reduced, the ‘Trip Planner’ will provide the ideal companion for your school staff who wish to organise a future trip. It outlines all of the expectations for organising a school trip in a chronological manner.
